My First Time Doing Foil Nails

While searching for some nail art inspiration I found some nail foils that I had never used, so it was time to give it a go!

I even made a video of my first (and second) attempt, you can check it out HERE!

My first time was very experimental. I actually had to do two layers of foils on some nails to try and cover up the patchy first layer... Probably not my best idea. Adding a holo top coat and then a fast dry top coat seemed to bring out all the creases and imperfections in my application.

I did some stamping over the top of the foils and I think it looks way better this way (it covers up my poor foil application)! I used "Snow Me White" by Sinful Colors and stamping plate NC02 by Nailz Craze.

After round one I think I figured out what I was doing wrong, so I went in for round two! This time I used leopard print nail foils. Turns out the key is to wait. I learnt that after the glue had dried clear I had to wait a minuet longer before putting the foils on. I got a much better result working this way.

I also had less trouble with the top coat this time... maybe because I only had one layer of foil on my nails. I used a holo top coat and then a fast dry glossy top coat. I did it this way as the fast dry top coat can cause excessive shrinkage and eat away at the nail foils, but putting the holo top coat in between the foils and the fast dry top coat prevents this from happening.
