Into The Stars - Galaxy Nail Art

I thought it was time for some galaxy nail art. Doing galaxy nails has been a long time favourite of mine, they're easy to do and almost always turn out looking great! My biggest tip for creating awesome galaxy nails with a smooth, blended milky way look is to work in thin layers. After that first layer of polish that you sponge on... keep going! It doesn't have to finish there! Use a range of like colours of different opacity and work in thin layers until you get the desired effect that you're looking for.

For my galaxy nails I used "I saw... U saw... We saw... Warsaw" by O.P.I. This polish is a nice opaque dark blue, a great background for galaxy nails. I then sponged on a white polish to create the shape of my milky way. Next I sponged on a crelly purple polish (one that I am working on as part of my Miss Priss Polish collection), this light shade of purple with a slightly translucent finish smoothed and blended out my harsh white lines that I had just sponged on. I kept alternating between these three polishes until I was happy with how they looked. All up I did about three thin layers of sponging to reach my desired effect. Next, top coat! This helps to blend the colours even more. After my top coat dried I stamped on some stars using some unknown stamping plate and white polish. I then added a holo top coat, I used "Call It Magic" by Miss Priss Polish and then one last coat of a glossy top coat to finish it all off. Here is the finished result...
