Out Of This World Trio by Glam Polish

Three intergalactic inspired scattered holo galaxy shades packed with holographic microflakies, shimmer and a sprinkling of ultra holo glitter. For each of my swatches I used two coats plus a glossy top coat. This trio will be available from Glam Polish on the 1st of April.

Happy Easter!

Happy Easter everyone! For Easter I did a cute mani featuring decorated eggs and a little chick hatching out of one of them. All of the polishes used are by Picture Polish: "Fairy Floss" (pink), "Mellow Yellow" (yellow), "Wisteria" (purple), "Sky" (blue), & "Tango" Orange. I free handed the shape of the eggs and the chick, then used dotting tools and zig zag nail vinyls for the decorated eggs.

Polish Envy Review

I was sent some polishes by Polish Envy to review. I had never tried any polishes by Polish Envy before, so naturally I was excited. I love reviewing new to me brands because I never know what I am going to get. Overall, I am quite happy with what I got with these polishes. The Polish Envy shop has a wide range of shades available.

I was sent four different polishes, as pictured below. From left to right: "Life Saver" "Nova" "Shamrock" & "Double Fudge"

Lighting: In light box

"Life Saver" - A true orange with a subtle shimmer. For my swatch I used three thin coats. I found that it dried slightly matte, but a nice glossy top coat brought it back to life.

"Shamrock" - A perfect shade of green for a polish called Shamrock. This polish had a very similar formula to the polish above. I used three thin coats for my swatch, and this one also dried slightly matte on it own too.

"Double Fudge" - A deep red-brown shade with a very thick and opaque formula. Although the formula was thick it wasn't unworkable. You could almost use one coat of this polish, but for good measures I used two thin coats with a glossy top coat. This polish also had a subtle shimmer, but not as much as the previous two.

"Nova" - A nice deep shade of purple with a sparkling shimmer.  The most sparkly polish out of the ones I tried. This one probably had the best formula too, two coats with a glossy top coat.

31DC2016weekly 4: Green

It's time for challenge number 4, green! For my mani I used a new polish from Miss Priss that I have been working on. It's a jade green creme with a subtle green shimmer. I'm not sure when it will be available, it doesn't even have a name yet, so for now it is just a sneak peek. Over the top of my jade green base I did some double stamping using Emily de Molly stamping plate EDM10. For the first layer of stamping I used "Leaf" by Celestial Cosmetics. For the second layer I mixed "Leaf" with "Snow Me White" by Sinful Colors, to get a lighter shade of green. For some reason my stamping didn't turn out too great, so it is a little patchy. Stamping tends to be more of a luck things for me, rather than skill. Sometimes it works, other times it doesn't. I guess this was one of those times where it just wasn't going to cooperate.

31DC2016weekly 3: Yellow

Challenge number 3 is yellow. I'm a little late with this one because I have been sick (I guess getting sick is a regular thing for a first year out teacher). Anyway, I used "Sunny Mornings" by Pretty Pots Polish. A cute polish with a yellow base and colourful matte glitters. I then stamped over the top with Konad pink stamping polish and Emily de Molly stamping plate EDM10. I should have taken a close up of one of my nails with this design on, but I totally forgot, so one picture is all I have.

31DC2016weekly 2:Orange

This week the challenge is orange nails. I started with a subtle gradient using "Blush" and "Tango" by Picture Polish. Then I used a tile stencil from Whats Up Nails and "Tantrum" by Celestial Cosmetics. I think my idea looked a bit better in my head, and it looks much better in real life compared to what I could capture in my photos. I love the contrast between the creme polishes and the holographic pattern!

31DC2016weekly 1: Red

Instead of doing the 31 day challenge over 31 days, a few nail bloggers are doing the challenge over 31 weeks. One nail art challenge per week instead of one a day. I think this sounds much more do-able. I have done the 31 day challenge once before. It's a tough challenge, I was behind most days and almost didn't finish. So I have decided that I am joining in the weekly challenge! The weekly challenge starts on Saturday the 5th of March, and finishes on the same day as the 31 day challenge, Saturday the 1st of October.

The first challenge is red... my favourite colour! So I dug deep into my helmer for some red indie polishes that I haven't used in awhile. I used "Cranberry Glass" by Powder Perfect for my base and then used "Classy Chassis" by Shades of Phoenix for a glitter gradient and then zig-zags for an accent nail.

Friendship Is Sparkly Trio by Glam Polish

This sparkly little trio from Glam Polish is inspired by My Little Pony Friendship is Magic. Each holographic polish features matte dot glitters (my personal favourite type of glitters). I love how the subtle dot glitters peek through the holographic base and glitters. This trio will be available from Glam Polish on the 4th of March along with the "Love Marilyn Collection" which is a nine piece holographic polish collection.

"Cutie Pox" - A holographic base tinted with a mix of ultra holo glitter and rainbow of pastel micro and small dot glitter.

I also have some nail art inspired by these beautiful polishes. First up is my unicorn head. I stamped with "Snow Me White" by Sinful Colours and Nailz Craze plate 02 for the swirly background. Then used a nail vinyl and "Pink Friday" for the unicorn head.

"Bridle Gossip" - A holographic base tinted with turquoise glass flecks and a mix of ultra holo glitter, iridescent glitter and small dot glitter.

Some pretty pastel stars go beautifully with this polish. I used "Sky" by Picture Polish and a nail vinyl for the stars, unfortunately I can't remember where I got the nail vinyls from.

Some more nail art inspired by the polishes. I stamped the rainbow arches using stamping plate HeHe 045 using "Snow Me White" by Sinful Colours. I then used Konad pink stamping polish and Nailz Craze plate 02 for the rearing unicorn.
