Playing with Polish During the Month of March

There is often a lot of nail stuff that I do over the course of a month that I don't always get around to sharing. Mostly just day to day stuff. So I thought I would wrap up this month by sharing what I have been up to, that I hadn't shared yet. I often do my nails late in the after noon/night for the next day. Usually it is something simple, just one colour. Then the next day I might recycle it into some nail art, gradients, stamping, that sort of thing. Most of it is really simple, or just experimenting.

Super simple holo gradient using "Fine Art" by Emily de Molly and "Grace" by Picture Polish.

Then stamped over the top with "Pitch" by Celestial Cosmetics and EDM13. I really love how this turned out!

This one was a bit of experimentation using "Denim" by Celestial Cosmetics and "Blue Heaven" by Color Club with EDM02 stamping plate. For most of my nails I used "Denim" as the base then stamped with "Blue Heaven" except for my accent nail where I reversed the colours. So I had "Blue Heaven" as my based then stamped with "Denim."

Something pretty and sweet that I wore one weekend. Along with proof that I have two hands and that I (sometimes) do both hands. I used "Moonlight Glow" as my base then stamped with "Ruby" (both by Celestial Cosmetics) using EDM10 stamping plate.

Another mani that started out as a gradient, then I added more the next day. I used "Night Terrors" and "Lost In Paradise" by Emily de Molly.I am actually surprised I haven't done a mani like this sooner.

Reflecting back over this I find it funny how I seemed to reach for a lot of the same brands this month.
Do you have a favourite design? What do you like to wear on your nails from day to day?

Masters of Illusions Collection by Glam Polish

The Masters of Illusions collection by Glam Polish is like something I have never seen before! I've seen multi-chromes and duo-chrome polishes and glitters, with shimmer and holo. But I have never seen it like this before. Opening up the polishes I had no idea what to expect. My first impression was something like: "Ohh, sparkly!" which I think is an appropriate first statement for this collection. Then I has I had time to take in the polish in all of its sparkly glory and my train of thought went something like this: "Sparkly silver, with blue, or is it green? Or is it blue with silver holo and green shimmer? It's silver. No, it's blue. I don't know my colours anymore!" Yep. Something that you learn in pre-school, and here I am sitting at my desk and I have no idea what the colour of half the polishes in front of me are. Thank goodness that Rachel sent me a handy little e-mail with the polish descriptions (what would I do without her?). So the descriptions of the polish are Rachel's descriptions. My descriptions would basically consist of me telling you "Pretty sparkly polish" nine times over like a total newbie.

Masters of Illusion Collection

Before getting into the individual swatches, a little about the collection as a whole. The formulas are fantastic! For each of my swatches I used three thin coats plus a glossy top coat (as usual). When applying the polish I was able to easily get a nice crisp line around my cuticles with out them being flooded by glitter. Meaning that  I hardly had to do any clean up at all. The polishes also felt really nice when on. You know how sometimes glitter polishes can be really thick and feel heavy and gluggy on your nails, even when dry? Then they chip off really easily in big clumps. I found that these felt really nice and smooth on and had a good wearing time without chipping off. It didn't feel thick and heavy on my nails, which I wasn't expecting. So thumbs up for fantastic formula, application, and wearability!

Ok, now what you really want to see... The swatches!

I took the time to record some action shots in direct sunlight. I didn't want the videos getting too long so I broke it up into three separate parts. You can see each part on my YouTube channel. You can also click directly on the pictures below to take you right to each video.
