Colour Riot!

I am so honored to have been able to swatch the entire Colour Riot Collection by Prettypots Polish. The full collection consists of 12 really glittery and colouful polishes plus one limited edition polish!

Starting off with "Riot on the Sidewalk." This one was a surprise favorite for me, I liked it in the bottle but was amazed at how it looked on! This polish has medium sized matte yellow/orange, green, blue, pink, and black hexes with larger black hexes in a soft sky blue base. For my swatch I used three coats. The base of this one is a bit thin, in a way this is good because the glitter can show through the layers, but at the same time you need a few layers to reach full opacity. If you wanted you could layer a few coats over a light blue base. I love the soft blue base colour of this one in the sunlight but it looks more grey in the shade, which is most likely from the black glitters. I think this one would look good with a matte top coat too, but I'll have to try that another time.

Sweet Treats

Today I have three polishes from the Sweet Treats Collection by Peita's Polish. I love the inspiration behind this collection, it is so fun and colourful! I also love the use of the small matte glitters in a clear base, it's a bit of a change from the usual stuff I have.

First up is "Musk Sticks." I love how this soft candy pink really does remind me of musk sticks. This polish has small pink and white matte glitters. For my swatch I used four thin coats alone to reach full coverage. I found it became quite thick to layer over itself, so for the rest of my swatches I layered the polish over a base colour so that I didn't have so many thick layers. I love the colours in this one so I will definitely be layering this one over different colours in the future.

Next is "Fizzilicious." This polish is packed with pink, yellow, and white matte glitters that creates a  fizzy orange sherbet look. I layered two thin coats over Sinful Colors "Unicorn." My favorite thing about this polish is that it actually made it look like I had a tan! My layering the polish over a base colour I found that it was a lot smoother to apply, not as thick, and I thought it looked better too.

Lastly is "Jellybean Dream." This one was a surprise favorite for me. To me it seemed that out of the three polishes this one had the best formula. The polish is packed with blue, pink, and purple matte glitter and looks amazing! I used two easy, thin coats over O.P.I "Funky Dunky."

I love these polishes and there is so much you can do with them by layering them over different base colours. All of the Sweet Treat Collection is available from Peita's Polish Etsy Store.

Moonstone Nail Polish

Today I have swatches from a brand new Aussie indie brand called Moonstone Nail Polish. These beautiful polishes are hand mixed and made with love by the very creative Caitlin. Moonstone Polish will be available on the 29th of October, so mark it on your calendar!

The name Moonstone Polish was inspired by the use of moonstone in the Harry Potter world. Moonstone is used in several love potions, and mixing polish is like mixing potions. I seriously love the inspiration behind the name I think it is such a perfect fit, and so unique. I love nail polish and I am also a huge Harry Potter fan, so of course I am going to like the name.

The first polish that I have to show you today is called 'Midnight Express." This one is so pretty and super sparkly. It has a deep purpleish base with blue and purple micro glitter that gives it more of a blue finish rather than a purple finish. It is also packed with small blue and holo hex glitters. For my swatch I used three thin coats and  I did my best to capture all the holo sparkle.

Next up is "Time Child." This one has a steely-blue sparkly metallic base, really and awesome colour. Then packed with various sizes of silver holo hex glitters. For my swatch I used three thin coats, but you could easily get away with two as the base colour is wonderfully pigmented. The only bad thing about the base colour being so opaque and pigmented is that you can see the hexes through the layers but the holo effect is covered up.

Last but not least is "New Romantic."  For my swatch I used one coat dabbed over O.P.I. "My Vampire is Buff." This polish is soft and pretty, so I wanted to try it over a soft neutral base.  I also wanted to swatch this one over a darker base, but I broke a nail and didn't want odd length swatches. This glitter topper has slightly transparent white hearts, with white, gold and pink mini hex glitters I needed to do a bit of fishing to get the hearts out, but that is to be expected with larger glitters.

Peita's Polish Swatches

I am constantly find new favorite indie polishes, and today I found another two amazing polishes from Peita's Polish. The only thing wrong with these is that they are too awesome!

"Skulltastic" is part of the new Halloween collection. This one is packed with matte white, grey, and pink glitter as well as matte pink skull glitter. Yep, that's right, PINK SKULL GLITTER! Perfect for Halloween, while still being girly. The skulls required a bit of fishing and didn't lay flat on the nail, but that was to be expected from this kind of glitter.

The next amazing polish is packed with neon pink glitter and is appropriately called "Pinkaholic"  This one has a mix of neon squares, stars, and butterflies. I left this one upside down for a bit and didn't have any problems getting the large glitter. I was sad to take this one off, it looks great with a glossy top coat or matte top coat.

Pastel Love

Today I am finally posting my swatches from the Pastel Love Collection by Pretty Pots Polish.
The Pastel Love Collection has six unique pastel polishes. I am a huge fan of pastel polishes, the are always the first to catch my eye, this collection has some new favorites! :)

"Hydrangea Garden" One of my favorites from this collection. This one has a soft purple base with yellow, blue, and purple glitters. It is so beautiful and easy to apply, even looks great with a matte top coat. For my swatch I used three coats, but you could get away with two coats for shorter nails.

"Pink Rainbows" My other favorite from this collection, it reminds me of fairy bread! :) This polish as a pastel pink base with a rainbow of glitters, hence the name. This one has a very similar formula to "Hydrangea Garden" both apply smoothly and look great with a matte topcoat. For my swatch I used three coats, but shorter nails could easily get away with two.

"Grape Jam N' Sugar" This one is a super sparkly purple jelly with a mix of pink, purple, and silver glitter. It is really sparkly in the sun light and shade. For my swatch I used three coats and a glossy top coat.

"Candy Peach" This one has a soft peach-beige base that is pretty much the same colour as my skin tone, so it blended with my skin. It would probably look better on someone who actually had a tan (unlike me, as i am really white!). I found it looked best with a matte top coat.  I used three coats for my swatch.

I love the glitter combination in this one!

"Dreamless" despite the name it is a very dreamy polish. This one is a gorgeous pearly white with a slight blue purple duochrome finish. It applies very smoothly and builds to opacity in about three coats. I really like this one and how soft it is while still having that crisp white polish feel.

I did my best to capture the slight duochrome finish, it really is gorgeous!
