Shades of Phoenix Halloween Trio - Dia de Muertos

More amazing polishes from Shades of Phoenix for Halloween!
As always, they are all beautiful polishes with smooth formulas. Some of the many reasons why I love Shades of Phoenix.

(I am also loving the new boxes that the Shades of Phoenix polishes come in.)

Dia de Muertos, or Day of the Dead, is a Mexican holiday in remembrance for those who have died.

31 Day Challenge: Days 11-20

It is quite depressing how far behind I have gotten. I was away for part of last week and then the beginning of this week as well, which meant no nail time! :( I didn't want to give up though, so I have caught up with most of the nail challenges and it's time for another bulk update. I am also sick today so I don't feel like writing a lot. If you want to know what colours I used or have any other questions, just ask. :)

Day 11: Polka Dots
Textured pink Dots. I really wasn't happy with how this one turned out but I didn't have enough time to come up with something better.

Day 12: Stripes
Can't go wrong with black and gold!

Day 13: Animal Print
I really like how this one turned out. I will definitely be doing something similar again one day soon. For this one I tried the BarryM Nail Art Pen for the first time, I really liked how it worked and it was perfect for a design like this.

Day 14: Flowers
I really need to practice my roses, but I still really like this one anyway.

Day 15: Delicate Print
Since my freehand skills aren't great I used Konad plate m57.

Day 16: Tribal Print
This is probably the worst tribal print I have ever done. I started using the BarryM Nail Art Pen but I couldn't get a fine line like I wanted, so I kind of gave up half way though and ended up using acrylic paint.

Day 17: Glitter
The best glitter bomb I could think of, Glam Polish "Evie" over black, so sparkly.

Day 18: Half Moons
I love how simple, yet classy half moon nails can be.

Day 19: Galaxies
I normally love doing galaxy nails, but I don't think this is my best work. I'll be doing more galaxy nails again soon! :)

Day 20: Water Marble
I am no water marble expert but I wanted to try something different and I like how it turned out.

I'm not exactly happy with all the work that I have done, but I guess that's been because I was trying to work quickly to catch up. I hope that I can have a bit more time with the last part of the challenge.

Oh, well. I am going back to bed now!

September What's In-die Box? Swatches and Review

Spoiler alert if you ordered the September What's In-die Box? and haven't gotten it yet and want the contents to be a surprise!

I have loved the idea of a monthly Aussie indie polish box right from the start! Each month 5 different Aussie indie brands contribute unique polishes to a themed box. This months contributing brands were Glam Polish, Lilypad Lacquer, Peita's Polish, Celestial Cosmetics, and Emily de Molly and the theme was Sex and the City. I loved this months theme, I thought it was so fun and girly.

So on to the polishes....

31 Day Challenge 2013: Days 7-10

Still keeping up with the day to day nail challenges, I've even managed to post pictures on IG! Now it's time for a blog update.

Day 7: Black and White
I love what I did for this one!

I've done a few similar manis with different glitter toppers, so I thought I would try it out with Sally Hansen's Fuzzy Coat "Tweedy" over Sinful Colors "Snow me White" and "Black on Black."

31 Day Challenge 2013: Days 1-6.

It's been a busy week! I've had two uni assignments due and family visiting so I haven't had time to edit and post my nail pictures for the 31 Day Challenge. Of course, I  managed to make time to do my nails, so I have been keeping up to date with the date to day challenges, but now it's time for a mass update.

Day 1:  Red

O.P.I. "Skyfall" and gold nail studs that I got from ebay.
I love how simple, yet effective this one is!

Day 2: Orange

Neon orange splatter using Ulta3 "Tahti" over a white base.

Day 3: Yellow

The first thing I thought of for yellow was Glam Polish "Brite."
This is one coat over Sinful Colors "Unicorn."

Day 4: Green

I'm generally not a fan of the color green, unless it is a mint green! Thanks to some awesome nail mail I got my hands on BarryM "Ridley Road." This is two thin coats seen in direct sunlight.

Day 5: Blue

A simple tape design with a star nail stud that I got from ebay. The blue is O.P.I. "No Room for the Blues" and the lighter blue is an unknown.  I love this blue as it has such a perfect formula and is opaque in almost one coat.

Day 6: Violet

This was a late night free hand chevron french tip. Not the greatest, oh well.
The pink base was O.P.I. "I Theodora You" and the purple is O.P.I. "Funky Dunkey." This purple also has an awesome formula.

I am hoping to keep up to date with my posts, but I doubt that will happen. I'll probably end up doing a bulk post every few days.
